(Updated 2026-04-27)
The Editorial Office of VidékiLány considers the protection of your data important. We have therefore drawn up our privacy policy on the basis of Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 and Regulation (EU) 2016/679, which sets out how we collect, use, disclose and store your data. Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with our privacy practices, and contact us if you have any questions.
WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA FROM PUBLIC EXPOSURE, WE KEEP IT SECURE — AND YOU REMAIN IN CONTROL OF IT.
Collection and use of personal data
Personal data means any information that uniquely identifies a particular person, or that can be used to contact that person.
You may at any time ask our Editorial Office to provide the personal data we have stored about you.
You are not required to provide the personal data requested (i.e. providing them is voluntary); however, if you choose not to provide them, we may not be able to provide our services to you, or only partially, and we may also be unable to assist you with any questions.
What personal information we collect
If you only browse or visit the Website, our site does not store any personal information about you.
As a registered Visitor, we store the e-mail address you provide and the password you set on our site.
If you are an Advertiser with us, in addition to your e-mail address and the password you set on our site, we store your phone number, the date of birth you provided, and any other data displayed in your advertisement that you have entered (weight, bust/waist/hip measurements, height, body type, hair type, hair colour, eye colour), as well as your photos. In the case of bank balance top-ups, the issued invoices include the name and (if provided) address of the payer; in the case of SMS top-ups, we record the phone number; in the case of Paysafecard top-ups, we do not store any information.
For both registered Visitors and Advertisers, our system stores the IP address used at login, the browser type, its version number, and the identifier automatically generated at registration.
Special categories of data
Due to the nature of VidékiLány, Advertisers may, in their advertisements, share information that may fall within special categories of data under Article 9 of the GDPR (e.g. information indicating sexual life or sexual orientation). We process such data exclusively on the basis of the data subject's explicit, voluntary consent, given by registering and/or by submitting an advertisement. You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the advertisement and/or your registration.
The site is intended exclusively for persons who have reached the age of 18; we do not knowingly collect or process the data of minors.
How personal data is used
We store personal data in order to enable the use of the functions available on our site and to display advertisements.
We may also use personal data for internal purposes, such as auditing and data analysis, in order to improve our services and customer communications.
Protection of personal data
We take the security of your personal data very seriously, which is why all communication between your browser and our server takes place in encrypted (SSL) form. Passwords are also stored in encrypted form, not visible even to customer service staff. The computer systems on which your personal data is stored are protected by a firewall and have only limited physical access, as they are located in a building protected by physical security measures. If you share content on our site, the data you share may also be visible to, recorded by, and used by other users. In such cases, it is your own responsibility to be mindful of which personal data you share or provide. If, for example, you provide your name and e-mail address in a forum post, those details become public. Please exercise caution when using such functions.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are short text files placed on a computer's browser by the websites it visits. Cookies are widely used to operate websites efficiently and to provide web services and features. Cookies may be "persistent" or "session" cookies. A persistent cookie is stored by the browser until a specified date, provided the user does not delete it earlier; a session cookie, on the other hand, is not stored by the browser and is automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Cookie-based data processing can be customised by the user in most browsers, including being disabled altogether. However, if cookies are disabled, the website or some content or services available on the website may be unavailable or only partially available.
Cookies are used to identify Users in order to personalise the user experience and provide tailored service, and to compile and make available content that is more relevant and matches their interests.
Location-based services
If you grant permission, our site will attempt to determine your approximate location. Using this, our site will primarily display advertisements close to you (in the given city) at the top.
Sharing information with third parties
The Editorial Office ensures the security of the personal data it processes through appropriate technical and organisational measures, in particular protecting personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, transfer, disclosure, deletion or accidental destruction. Only those Editorial Office employees may access the personal data database whose duties relating to customer service, troubleshooting, or enforcement of rights require it. Whenever anonymised data is sufficient to achieve a given purpose, the Editorial Office performs the anonymisation.
In certain cases, the Editorial Office may make some personal data available to its strategic partners who, together with the Editorial Office, have been working for several years on the development, operation and maintenance of the website. When granting access to your personal data to a data processor, we continuously ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Therefore, we grant only temporary access to your data to partners we have carefully selected and who have undertaken contractual obligations to protect the data, and only for the minimum time necessary (e.g. the mobile operator in the case of SMS top-ups).
If, after logging in to our site, you so request via internal message, we will, at your request, also pass on some or all of the information stored about you to a third party designated by you.
Access to personal data
We strive to ensure that you can access and rectify your personal data at any time. If your personal data is incorrectly recorded in our system, we will endeavour to enable you to update or delete the incorrect data as soon as possible — except where we are required to retain such data for purposes set out in legislation.
We provide you access to the personal data we store about you. To request this, please contact us via internal message on our site. We will send the requested data (provided that all necessary information is available) within 8 days.
We may refuse to fulfil requests that are unreasonable, that endanger the personal data of others, that are extremely difficult to carry out, or for which laws or regulations do not require access.
You can modify or delete your registration and the data you have provided in the settings menu. The deletion of data does not apply to information that must be retained for a certain period under law.
If it is easier for you and you indicate it via internal message, we will also fulfil your request within 8 days.
Duration of data processing
We retain your personal data until the purposes described in this privacy notice have been fulfilled (e.g. until photos, registration, etc. are deleted), unless legislation makes longer retention compulsory or necessary.
Rights of the data subject and remedies
Under Articles 13–22 of the GDPR, you have the following rights:
Our Editorial Office does everything possible to ensure that both Visitors and Advertisers are satisfied. Accordingly, you may contact us at any time with any data-processing-related question or request.
You are entitled at any time to request information about the personal data concerning you that is processed by our Editorial Office, to modify it at any time, or to request its rectification.
Upon your request, our Editorial Office will provide information about the data it processes concerning you, the purpose, legal basis and duration of the processing, as well as the name, address and data-processing-related activities of the data processor. To do so, please write to us via internal message after logging in to our site. We will provide the requested information in writing within 8 days, to the e-mail address you have provided.
You may object to the processing of your personal data. Our Editorial Office will examine the objection as soon as possible after the internal message is received, but no later than within 8 days, and will inform you of the outcome via internal message as well.
In case of a violation of rights, on the basis of the Hungarian Information Act and the Civil Code (Act V of 2013):
Our Editorial Office occasionally updates its privacy notice. The current version can be viewed at any time at this link.
